The shocked molecular layer in RCW 120

چکیده

ABSTRACT Expansion of wind-blown bubbles or H ii regions lead to formation shocks in the interstellar medium, which compress surrounding gas into dense layers. We made spatially and velocity-resolved observations RCW 120 photo-dissociation region (PDR) nearby molecular with CO(6–5) 13CO(6–5) lines distinguished a bright CO-emitting layer, we related shocked moving away from ionizing star due expansion region. Simulating density temperature, as well brightness several CO C+ emission PDR, found reasonable agreement observed values. Analysing kinematics, revealed large-scale PDR also environments embedded protostars outflows. observe layer most regular structure map velocity space, when around Young stellar objects (YSOs) is dispersed by

The physical properties of the dust in the RCW 120 H II region as seen by Herschel

Context. RCW 120 is a well-studied, nearby Galactic H ii region with ongoing star formation in its surroundings. Previous work has shown that it displays a bubble morphology at mid-infrared wavelengths, and has a massive layer of collected neutral material seen at sub-mm wavelengths. Given the well-defined photo-dissociation region (PDR) boundary and collected layer, it is an excellent laborato...

0 Shocked Molecular Gas in the Supernova Remnant Hb 21

We have carried out 12CO J=2–1 line observations of the supernova remnant (SNR) HB 21 in order to search for evidence of interaction with molecular clouds. We mapped the eastern half (80 × 110) of the SNR almost completely. Molecular gas appears to be distributed mainly along the boundary of the SNR, but the overall distribution has little correlation either with the distortion of the SNR bound...

Shocked molecular hydrogen from RNO 91

We report the detection of the H2 v=1-0 S(1) line at 2.122μm, from RNO91 in the L43 dark cloud, which is known to be a T Tauri star surrounded by a 1700AU disk structure (containing ices) and a weak outflow. The non-detection of the H2 v=2-1 S(1) line at 2.247μm suggests shock excitation rather than fluorescence. The emission is extended spatially up to 9 in the north-south direction. The line ...

ortho-to-para ratio in shocked molecular gas

We report the results of spectroscopic mapping observations carried out toward the Herbig-Haro objects HH7–11 and HH54 over the 5.2 − 37μm region using the Infrared Spectrograph of the Spitzer Space Telescope. These observations have led to the detection and mapping of the S(0) – S(7) pure rotational lines of molecular hydrogen, together with emissions in fine structure transitions of Ne, Si, S...
